Ansul's K-Guard extinguishers contain Ansulex™ Low pH liquid fire suppressant, a specially formulated, aqueous solution which quickly knocks down flames, forming a vapor-securing blanket, cools the grease and surrounding surfaces, and does so without producing toxic byproducts, making it the ideal extinguisher for commercial kitchens, food courts, cafeterias, convenience stores, hotels, schools, and more.

The agent is specifically designed for use on fires that involve combustible cooking vegetable or animal fats in commercial cooking equipment. Typical appliances include: fryers; griddles and range tops; upright, natural charcoal, or chain-type broilers; electric, lava rock, mesquite or gas-radiant char-broilers; and woks.

The low pH makes this extinguishing agent compatible with common kitchen environments (stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized metal, mild steel, copper, and brass). This agent should not be used for fires involving energized electrical hazards. This extinguisher is meant as a backup to an automatic fire suppression system which should be activated to cut off power to the cooking equipment and permit the cooking media to cool below its auto-ignition temperature and attain complete extinguishment with this unit.

The maximum travel distance between the Class K extinguisher and cooking appliance can not exceed 30 feet. Listed by UL and ULC for "K" class fires. Wall hanger is included.
